CLEARFIELD – A West Decatur man accused of regularly sexually assaulting a girl starting when she was only 7 years old, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Brian Douglas Stone, 41, is charged with rape, 24 counts of aggravated indecent assault, one count of intimidation of witness or victims, all felonies, and 24 counts of misdemeanor indecent assault in connection with his alleged continued abuse of the victim for approximately seven years.

He is being held in the county jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, in January the victim reported to a school official that she was being sexually assaulted by Stone.

In an interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Clearfield, the victim revealed that the assaults began when she was between 7 years old and 8 years old.

She stated that the assaults occurred every night but as she got older it was once every one to two months.

When she was 8 years old or 9 years old, she recalled lying on top of the defendant on the couch when he reportedly touched her private area. She stated he would promise not to do it again, but the assaults continued.

In an incident when she was 11 years old or 12 years old, she said he approached her in her bedroom, asking for a massage. He exposed himself and made her touch him, police said.

She reported that as he assaulted her, he would tell her to “loosen up.”

The most recent assault was on Jan. 25 when she told investigators he came into her bedroom. She tried to leave, but he allegedly pushed her down onto the bed and assaulted her again.

If she would cry during the assaults, he would reportedly threaten to break her nose and warned her not to tell anyone because “it was their secret.”

The victim’s mother told police that when she spoke with Stone, he admitted to her that he had sexually assaulted the victim, according to the complaint.
