State police at DuBois

  • State police received a report about a Protection from Abuse order violation Tuesday that originated from Snyder Township, Jefferson County. According to state police, both a 33-year-old Brockway man and a woman were located near Olive Lane; both had left from the rear of a residence prior to the troopers’ arrival. Troopers followed footprints in the snow to the location of the woman several hundred yards away. She said the defendant had continued on ahead, and he was pursued on foot through the woods for about two miles. Both were allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of apprehension, and charges are pending through the district court.
  • State police received a report about a “rolling” domestic that started out on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 105 in Union Township, Clearfield County. Upon location of the Missouri couple at Snappy’s Convenience Store in Sandy Township, troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from their vehicle. The female driver was allegedly under the influence and both she and her male passenger were in possession of marijuana and various items of paraphernalia. Both were subsequently taken into custody and are facing drug-related charges through the district court.

Clearfield Borough

  • Police received a report about a child walking alone in the area of South Front and South Second streets. According to police, a witness picked up the child and removed them from the roadway. At the scene, officers saw a woman running up and saying the child belonged to her. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • Police reported that a bank card was found in the area of North Third and Reed streets. The rightful owner may call the station at 814-765-7819 to claim it.
  • Police responded to a report of thick smoke coming from a side vent at the Fair & Park Board office. According to police, a board member arrived on-scene, entered the building and discovered a malfunction with the furnace.
  • Police assisted state parole officers at a residence on Daisy Street. According to police, contact was made with a male with an active warrant through state parole. He was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
  • Police responded to a reported psychological emergency on Nichols Street. Contact was made with the male and officers transported him to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a mental health evaluation.
