RIDGWAY – The Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team dropped to 3-10 on the 2019-20 season with a road loss to the Ridgway Lady Elkers Tuesday night 30-13.
The Lady Tide hung tough after the first period was in the books, trailing just 6-5.
It was a horrible second eight minutes that took away any hopes of a victory for Curwensville as the Lady Elkers outscored Curwensville 12-1 to lead at the half 18-6.
Ridgway also won the third and fourth quarters to pick up the win.
Briana Swindell had four points for Curwensville while Ridgway’s Christina Fullem had a game high 16 tallies.
The two teams combined for just six free throw attempts on the evening with the Lady Tide going 2 for 4 and Ridgway 2 for 2.
The Lady Elkers beat the Lady Tide in mid-December at Curwensville 30-18.
In junior varsity action it was Ridgway topping the Lady Tide by a score of 45-12. Skylar Pentz led the Lady Tide with 8 points.
Curwensville is now is off until Friday when it hosts Brockway. The Lady Rovers defeated the Lady Tide earlier this season in Brockway by a score of 63-21. The JV game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to tip-off shortly after.
