CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man was jailed Monday after he was allegedly found with a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine.
At approximately 3:59 p.m., officers were at the Red Roof Inn, Clearfield, to attempt to locate a wanted person, according to a news release issued by Lawrence Township police.
While on-scene, information was received about “short-stay” traffic at one room that was rented by a male who was wanted by township police and Clearfield County Domestic Relations.
Contact was subsequently made with 34-year-old Tad J. Polites of Clearfield inside the room. When he was taken into custody, police say he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
Inside the room, officers observed the drug and paraphernalia in plain view. Further search allegedly yielded several large bags of crystal methamphetamine.
Police also located numerous scales, packaging materials, individually-wrapped bags of marijuana and pills and a pair of brass knuckles, according to the release.
Polites was housed in Clearfield County Jail on drug-related charges. Samantha Weber, 23, of Clearfield was found in the room and to have an active warrant; she was also housed in county jail.
