Winkler Gallery Announces Upcoming Events, Kid’s Classes

DUBOIS – The Winkler Gallery and Art Education Center of DuBois has announced a pair of upcoming events as well as a series of kid’s classes.

Masquerade Party

A Masquerade Party will be held from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the gallery.

It will feature prizes, a best costume award and silent auction. There will also be beverages, hors d’oeuvres and live music by Kurt Thomas.

VIP Tickets are $50 each or two for $90; general admission tickets are $30 each or two for $50. VIP tickets include one-of-a-kind masks created by Winkler Gallery artists.

First Friday

A First Friday event will be held, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at the gallery; this month’s reception will honor artist Mary Jo Gomes. The public is welcome to attend and light refreshments will be provided.

Kid’s Classes

In October, November and December, the gallery will host artist Carrie Osborn, who will offer kid’s classes. The cost is $10 per child; all materials are included.

These classes in acrylic will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. for kids 8 -12 years of age. Classes will meet Oct. 19, Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 at the gallery.

The Winkler Gallery and Art Education Center is located on the second floor at 36 N. Brady St., DuBois. It’s a non-profit gallery that represents the artwork of the very best artists of the area

The gallery is open from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
