CLEARFIELD — The 15th annual Bison Baseball Alumni Game had a new look Saturday afternoon with former Clearfield Area High School players pitted against the Clearfield Fall Ball Team, and the 20 grads who participated in the seven-inning contest emerged with an 8-1 win over the current Red and Black players at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park.

Pacing the winners at the plate were Most Valuable Player Award recipients Adam Jury (Class of 2007) with a three-run home run and a double and Ken “Buck” Danver (’71) with two singles and an RBI.

Brandon Billotte (’98) also had a pair of hits, while Lucas Malloy (’07) homered, Mike Norris (’94) tripled and Chris Peacock (’91) doubled.

Larry Peacock (’65), Todd Hainsey (’92), Kevin Lykens (’95) and Andy Bloom (’97) chipped in with one single apiece.

The youngsters’ run was driven in by Elijah Quick with a single. Kyle Elensky doubled for their lone extra base hit.

Bloom and Scott Collins (’86) earned the Gold Glove Awards.

In the annual home run derby that preceded the game and attracted 13 would-be sluggers, Matt Peacock (’94) claimed bragging rights by belting six dingers and totaling 34 points.

Jury and Lykens shared second place with 23 points each.

The Bison Baseball Alumni Committee, comprised of longtime coach Sid Lansberry (’64), Billotte, Chris Peacock, Donnie Shimmel (’84) and Jeff Kavelak (’87), thanked umpires Bill Bacharach and Frank Keenan as well as the other two dozen alums who contributed to the event, with special thanks going to sponsors Bender Automotive, Bob Boob’s Garage, Clearfield Dairy Queen and Pete Hess/120 Pub and Grub.
