CLEARFIELD – The Penn Highlands Clearfield Activities Committee recently donated $500 to the Jaxson Project of Penn Highlands Clearfield.
The committee raises money within the hospital from fellow employees to support patients and their families. They recently chose the Jaxson Project to support.
It is a program to give bags with comfort items to the families of pediatric patients who are transferred out of the hospital. The items are a way to let families know that no matter where they are receiving care, the family at PH Clearfield is thinking about them.
The Jaxson Project was started in honor of the son of Liz Davis, RN, Emergency Department director. Her son has received care at outside hospitals, and Davis shared with Julie Daquilante, director of Dietary and Environmental Services at PH Clearfield, how helpful a few items would be. The two directors decided giving items would help other families.
