Johnsonburg Rolls Over Lady Tide 11-1

JOHNSONBURG – The Curwensville Area High School girls softball team ended its regular season at
13-7 after losing on the road to Johnsonburg Wednesday afternoon 11-1. The game was called with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule coming in to play.

The Lady Tide score its only run in the top half of the sixth inning after Johnsonburg built a 6-0 lead after the first five innings of action.

Then with five runs scored in the bottom of the sixth the Ramettes went on to the double digit victory.

Lauren Tozer had two of the five hits on the day for Curwensville.

Lindsey Kojancic had a big day for Johnsonburg with three hits including a two run home run in the first inning that helped the third baseman pick up four RBIs on the afternoon.

Ramette Alyssa Kasmierski also had a two run home run in the sixth, one of her two hits.

Amanda Williams and Bell Galbo also picked up two hits for Johnsonburg.

The Lady Tide now await the District 9 AA playoff seeds and pairings. The playoffs start on Monday with quarter-final games in the girls AA bracket.
