Campus Corner: Spencer Named to All-PAC First Team

MEN’S SWIMMING

NEW WILMINGTON — Senior Michael Spencer (Clearfield) earned Presidents’ Athletic Conference First Team for the third time in his four-year Westminster career.

He was on two winning relay teams, the 200 freestyle and 200 medley, for the Titans at the 2019 PAC Championships.

Spencer also placed fourth in the 50 free, eighth in the 100 backstroke and ninth in the 100 free.

He also was on the All-Pac First Team as a freshman and sophomore and the second team last year.

BASEBALL

BEL AIR, Md. — Freshman pitcher Bryce Timko (Curwensville) kept Lackawanna College locked in a tie with Harford Community College by getting the final out in the sixth inning, but the hosts pushed across a run in the seventh to win 5-4 Saturday.

The Falcons also lost the nightcap, 14-6, to fall to 1-2.

LAKELAND, Fla. — Junior outfield Thomas Summers (Clearfield) was hitless in two at-bats for Southeastern (Fla.) last week.

He has made four appearances for the Fire, who are 15-2 after sweeping two doubleheaders from Madonna (Mich.), 15-3 and 2-0 Friday and 13-8 and 13-1 Saturday.

SOFTBALL

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Freshman shortstop Brooke Cline (Clearfield) was retired in her only plate appearance for Clarion (Pa.) in an 8-5 loss to Wayne State (Neb.) Sunday that was the opener of the Golden Eagles’ nine games at the PFX Spring Games.

Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) handed the winless Golden Eagles their eighth setback, 13-1, in the second game.

Cline has two hits for a .143 average, one run batted in and one run scored in seven games.
