Sheriff’s Office Warns of Phone Scam

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday warned area residents of a recently-reported phone scam.

According to a news release, a caller is falsely claiming to be “Deputy Sheriff Brooks” and requesting residents to appear at the courthouse to register for various court-related matters.

“… All such calls related to ‘Deputy Brooks’ [should] be ignored,” the release said. It added that any questionable calls can be confirmed as such by contacting the courthouse at 814-765-2641.
