Lady Bison’s Playoff Game Postponed to Friday

HYDE — School closings due to the winter storm that dumped snow and freezing rain on the region Wednesday forced the postponement of the District 9 Class AAAA girls basketball semifinal game between Clearfield and St. Marys.

The No. 3-seeded Lady Bison (9-13) and No. 2-seeded Lady Dutch (19-6) will play Friday with tipoff at 7:30 p.m. in the SMAHS Dutch Oven, according to a District 9 release appearing on D9sports.com.

The winner will play No. 1 seed Punxsutawney (21-1) for the championship and a berth in the PIAA Class AAAA Tournament next Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader on the DuBois Area High School hardwood.

The District 9 Class AAAA boys title game will follow at approximately 7:30, with No. 1 seed Clearfield (12-10) meeting the winner of Friday’s semifinal between St. Marys (7-14) and Bradford (10-12) on the No. 2 seed Owls’ home floor.
