Bison Cage Owls 83-56 in Purchase Line Consy Game

COMMODORE — Cade Walker pumped in 28 points and three teammates also cracked double figures as the Clearfield Area High School cagers breezed to an 83-56 win over Harmony in the Purchase Line Lions Club Holiday Tournament consolation game Friday evening.

Andrew Lopez recorded a career-high 17 points while Karson Rumsky and Matt Pallo, in his first start, added 11 and a career-high 10, respectively, for the Bison.

Walker and Rumsky were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Walker blistered the nets for 16 of Clearfield’s 18 points in the first quarter, and Lopez tallied nine in the second period to help the Bison stretch a 13-point lead into a 35-15 bulge at halftime.

Those two combined for a dozen points in the third quarter and nine more in the fourth period when eight Bison contributed to a 27-point outburst.

Walker also led Clearfield (5-3) in rebounds with nine while Lopez was tops in steals with five.

Taye Lynch grabbed seven missed shots and Rumsky had six rebounds.

For the 1-9 Owls, Adam McGarvey scored 17 points and Jayden Westover tallied 16.

Harmony was represented on the all-tourney team by Daniel Rorabaugh, who had nine points against the Bison.

Ligonier Valley, which edged Clearfield 80-78 Thursday, defeated Purchase Line 73-51 for the championship.

The Rams’ Merrek Paola was selected Most Valuable Player while Matthew Marinchak and Michael Marinchak were named to the all-tourney team along with Red Dragons Dom Campbell and Jacob Barnett.

Clearfield is off until traveling to Brookville next Friday for a non-league game.
