Bridge Preservation Work to Begin Monday in Bradford Township

BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that bridge preservation work is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 15, on Route 322 (Woodland Road) in Bradford Township, Clearfield County.

Work to be performed at this site includes drainage improvements, guiderail installation and concrete repairs to the arch culvert located beneath Route 322, near the intersection of Shiloh Road.

Most work will take place off the roadway and will not impact traffic. However, there will be instances where flaggers in the roadway will enforce an alternating traffic pattern.

Motorists are reminded to exercise caution while traveling through the work zone, watch for workers in the roadway, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.

This is the first of seven bridges to undergo preservation work as part of this project. The remaining bridges are located throughout Clearfield County and will be completed during the 2019 and 2020 construction seasons. PennDOT will issue updates as work locations change.

HRI Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $4.7 million job.

Overall project work will include deck repairs, rebar installation, concrete repairs, joint sealing, strip seal dam replacement, epoxy surface treatment for bridge decks, paving, guiderail improvements and miscellaneous construction.
