Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library to Offer Chess Club

CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is looking for local chess enthusiasts.

If you are a beginner or an experienced player, you’re invited to an informational night at the library on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m.

A youth club will be formed for interested school-aged children. Instruction will be done by experienced players with the idea of playing matches.  Instructional chess sets are available at the library.

Adults will have a designated day to play in the library’s river room. Staff members are bringing the chess club back to the library after a long-extended absence.

If you have any questions, contact the library at 814-765-3271. You can also keep up to date by following the library on Facebook or visiting online at www.ShawLibrary.org.
