Curwensville Public Library to Host Adult Reading Program

CURWENSVILLE—The Curwensville Library will host the Great American Reads Summer Adult Book Discussion.

The program will kick off on July 9 at 6:30 p.m. with Julie Rickard with a discussion on the popularity of books that take us to “other worlds” including George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, C. S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, and the hilarious Douglas Adams’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The Great American Read is a PBS television series, competition, and nationwide campaign hosted by Meredith Vieira that explores the power of books and the joy of reading through the lens of America’s 100 best-loved novels. Individuals are encouraged to read the books, vote for their favorite from the list of 100, and share their personal connections to the titles.
