DuBois Man to Stand Trial for Allegedly Strangling, Assaulting and Threatening Woman

DUBOIS – A DuBois man will stand trial for allegedly strangling, assaulting and threatening a woman.

Anthony Micha Schilling, 25, was charged by DuBois City police with a felony count of strangulation and two misdemeanor counts each of terroristic threats and simple assault, in addition to recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

Schilling waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday during centralized court in DuBois. He remains in the county jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on June 8 police spoke with the victim at the emergency room at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She reported that she and Schilling got into an argument at a Pifer Street residence. Schilling was upset and allegedly started to assault her.

The victim reportedly said he punched her in the face and head several times with a closed fist, head butted her, bit her arm and leg and smashed her head against the wall.

He also held a knife to her throat and told her she was going to die, police said.

The assault included him choking her several times and at one point she couldn’t breathe and felt like she was going to pass out, according to the report.

She stated that she screamed, hoping someone would hear her because she thought he was going to kill her. When she finally got away from him, she ran out of the house. A friend took her to the hospital.

A police officer noted that she had visible injuries to her head, face, arm, leg and neck. She had a small cut under her neck allegedly from the knife held to her throat.

Before police could go to the home to pick up Schilling, they were advised that the victim’s mother reported that Schilling called her saying he was going to slit her daughter’s throat.

When police arrived at the home, they were able to take Schilling into custody.

He reportedly made a comment “I will kill her.” He also stated that” glad you got me because I need a vacation and will have my people hunt her down and kill her.”

After he was advised to quit making these threats, he allegedly said, “I am serious. I will kill her.”

As he was being led away, he said “I will kill all of you. You don’t know who you are messing with,” according to the report.
