Lawrence Township

  • Police received a traffic complaint Monday in the area of River and Beaches roads. According to the report, a tractor-trailer had possibly struck the train bridge and was blocking the roadway. Upon arrival, police found it had fled the scene after reportedly causing damage to Elliott’s Park. Police located the tractor-trailer a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop. Its male driver was found to be driving while allegedly under the influence and while consuming an open alcoholic beverage. He was taken into custody and put in county jail with charges pending.
  • Police received a report about an incident of indecent assault that occurred April 25 at the Soaring Heights School. Upon investigation, it was found that a male made advances toward a juvenile female by allegedly kissing and inappropriately touching her.
  • On May 4, police responded to the Turnpike Pub and Pizza for an alleged physical assault. Prior to arrival, the two suspects had fled the scene. Police made contact with the male victim who was bleeding severely from his head, and he was flown to the Altoona Regional Hospital for treatment.
