Zane W. Graffius, 91, of Ramey died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born Nov. 19, 1926 in Beulah, he was the son of the late Chester and Ruth (Miller) Graffius.
He was a member of the Ramey United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Coalport Masonic Lodge, Jaffa Shrine and the Operating Engineers Union.
During World War II, he was a flight trainer for the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He retired from Vipond and Vipond Co. of Hollidaysburg, where he was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic.
On July 30, 1949, he married Loretta (Jones) Graffius, who survives in Ramey. They were married for 68 years.
He is survived by a son, Warren Graffius and three daughters, Jody (Dennis) Odrosky, Jocelyn Richardson and Wanda Jean (Randy) Fulton.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Chester Graffius, James Merritt, Timothy Graffius, Alexis Craven, Jonathan Odrosky and Logan David; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Graffius; and a sister, June Franchock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.
Family and friends will be received from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
The Coalport Masonic Lodge and Pastor Clare Pannebaker will hold a Funeral Prayer Service at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
