Charles “Pete” W. Young, 78, of DuBois died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Dec. 19, 1939 in Marion Center, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Blanche (Roush) Young.
On July 2, 1964, he married Donna L. (Snyder) Young. She preceded him in death Feb. 10, 1997.
He retired as a diesel mechanic from Shaw Mack Inc. in DuBois after 30 years of service.
He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He had been the scoutmaster or assistant scoutmaster of the Boy Scout Troup 36 of DuBois since 1978. He was also a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by two sons, Doug W. Young and his wife, Chris and Dan A. Young, both of DuBois; two sisters, Dora Hudak and Crecia Huey and two brothers, Robert Young and Harold “Bruce” Young and his wife, Peggy, all of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Adam and Megan Young.
He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with Pastor Harold Hills officiating.
Burial will be in Bundy Cemetery.
