Dietz Sworn in as DuBois City’s Controller

DUBOIS – Shane Dietz was sworn in as DuBois City’s controller at Monday night’s council meeting.

Dietz applied for the position after the former controller, Lisa LaBrasca Becker, became the city’s treasurer.  Dietz was appointed at the Jan. 18 work session.

In other business, council reallocated 2014-2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

From 2014 project funds, $186,416 was reallocated from the Showers Miracle Field project to the fire station’s rescue pumper.

Council reallocated an additional $175,090 in 2015 CDBG funds for the rescue pumper. It was originally intended for the Challenger Field project.

Finally, council reallocated $169,484.04 to the rescue pumper from the 2016 CDBG project funds.

The leftover funds – totaling $54,341.96 – were transferred to the City Park Pool project.  Plans for pool improvements were discussed back in October.

Council voted to approve use of the city’s streets and parks for the DuBois Cruise-In and the ninth annual Clearfield-Jefferson Suicide Prevention Walk.

The events will take place July 14 and Sept 9, respectively.
