Campus Corner: Mikesell Earns Points in Four Events

WOMEN’S SWIMMING

AKRON, Ohio — Sophomore Claire Mikesell (Clearfield) was a point-getter in four events for Ohio University in a 193-106 loss to Mid-American Conference rival Akron Saturday.

She placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.48, fourth in the 100 freestyle in a season-best 53.60 seconds, led off with a 53.98 split for the Bobcat ‘A’ 400 free relay quartet that finished second in 3:36.61 and swam the breaststroke leg in 29.51 seconds for the Bobcat ‘B’ 200 medley relay foursome that finished third in 1:48.40.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

DUBOIS — Sophomore center Trey Rauckhorst (Curwensville) responded to his sixth start for Penn State DuBois with eight points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in an 85-64 road loss to Penn State Wilkes Barre Friday night.

Sophomore guard Caleb Strouse (Clearfield) had one rebound and one steal.

The Lions made the short trip up I-81 to Dunmore the next day and were handed another Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference setback, 73-65, by Penn State Worthington Scranton, with Rauckhorst netting two points, grabbing five rebounds and making one steal.

The Lions tumbled to 7-9 with a 4-4 conference record that has them tied for sixth place.

Rauckhorst’s season totals show 83 points, 74 rebounds, 12 bocks, five assists and two steals.

Strouse has appeared in five games with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
