William H. Deakin, 83, of West Decatur died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at the Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Feb. 11, 1934 in Clearfield, he was the son of William Chester and Ada Mae (Dixon) Deakin.
Mr. Deakin was retired as a supervisor for Penelec-Shawville Generating Station after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Clearfield First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
In October of 1954 in Darnstadt, Germany, he wed the former Marlies Ann Petry, who preceded him in death June 20, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Burton Mullen. He was the last member of his generation.
Surviving are six children, Diane Deakin, veronica Deakin, Rhonda Deakin and William H. Deakin, all of Pittsburgh, Linda Deakin of West Decatur and Carol Helsel of Parks, Colo.
Also surviving are a granddaughter, Kylie; four grandsons, Jesse, Christopher, Dakota and Dex; and twin great-grandsons, Oliver and Wyatt.
At the request of Mr. Deakin, there will be no public visitation.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Robert Ackey officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery in Woodland.
