Kyle Fobe Becomes WTAJ’s News Leader

ALTOONA – Kyle Fobe is joining central Pennsylvania’s news leader WTAJ-TV as its news director.

He is crossing the country for his new job, coming to Altoona from Las Vegas, where he served as dayside executive producer at FOX5/KVVU-TV.

Before that, he spent several years at ABC 57 in South Bend, Ind., as the executive producer.

WTAJ-TV Vice President and General Manager Phil Dubrow says, “Kyle’s ability to attract viewers to local news shows that he understands people and will work hard for us to deliver great content in central Pennsylvania.”

Fobe grew up in Mishawaka, Ind. There he learned the importance of holding community leaders accountable, enterprise storytelling and winning the big story.

Realizing how to win the big story came in handy when he made the move to Las Vegas. When shots were fired at a country concert Oct. 1, 2017 and one of America’s darkest days unfolded, Fobe’s team was on-air and online first with the story.

Overall, his team provided more than 30 hours of continuous coverage and showed the nation how resilient the Las Vegas community was during the Oct. 1 shooting.

Fobe is now ready for his next adventure and eager to provide the most engaging and dynamic news coverage to central Pennsylvania.

Every day he and his team will continue to prove why WTAJ-TV is Your News Leader.

“I’m excited to help tell the great stories hidden across central Pennsylvania and help bring important news and weather to my new community” says Fobe.
