Darin R. Ferguson, 48, of Morrisdale died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at UPMC Susquehanna Hospital, Williamsport.
Born June 2, 1969 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Cleora J. (Smith) Ferguson.
He enjoyed the outdoors, old engines, John Deere tractors, the Dallas Cowboys and heckling others. His sense of humor and up-beat attitude were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by three sisters, Susan J. Langenbacher of Altoona, Carol A. (Gregory) Rowles of Clearfield and Julie L. (David A.) Commons of Hastings.
He is survived by five nieces and nephews, Josh (Shasta) Langenbacher of Altoona, Zach (Veronica) Langenbacher of Pittsburgh, Kristie (Eric) King of St. Benedict, Kim (Dan) Callahan of Warriors Mark and David “Matthew” (Megan) Commons of Hastings.
He is also survived by five great-nieces and great-nephews, Lacey and Logan King, Madalynn and Natalie Commons and Timothy “TJ” Callahan.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James E. Langenbacher.
He attended the Morrisdale United Methodist Church, Morrisdale. He was a 1988 graduate of the West Branch Area Junior-Senior High School, Allport, and a 1989 graduate of Vale Tech, Blairsville, as an automotive technician.
Family and friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, and again from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Ferguson’s caregivers and the Morrisdale community for their ongoing support over the years.
