Joseph “Jody” P. Stanton, 69, of DuBois died Nov. 10, 2017 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
Born July 5, 1948, he was son of the late Joseph E. and Mary Kathryn (Shughrou) Stanton.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.
On June 4, 1999, he married Kathy (Shaffer) Stanton. She survives.
He retired as a spring fitter from Triangle Auto Springs after more than 45 years of service.
He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post No. 17 and the Olympic Athletic Club. He enjoyed golfing and loved being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by three children, Heddy Stanton and Jodie Wehler and her husband, Bruce, both of St. Marys, and Kurtis Stanton of Ridgway; a brother, Timothy Stanton and his wife, Charlene of Rockton; and three grandchildren, Isaac and Brody Wehler and Madison Stanton.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Monday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the Dubois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
