WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson issued the following statement on passage of H. Res. 502, which includes $7.9 billion in disaster relief funding for the Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts:

“Today I supported emergency relief for our fellow Americans suffering in Texas from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The House of Representatives acted swiftly to release disaster funding, and I recognize there is much more to be done.

“I have also extended an offer to Members of Congress from the affected areas to assist with casework and constituent services for any of their district operations that have been impacted. Over the weekend, 200 members of the Pennsylvania National Guard left to assist Texas with recovery operations and supply deliveries.

“I am proud that our Guardsmen are working to save lives and help Texas with recovery efforts. My family’s prayers continue to be with everyone impacted by this tremendous storm.”
