Lynn Duane Mauk, 79, of Clearfield and formerly of Mahaffey, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born Feb. 27, 1938 in Middletown, Mahaffey RD, he was the son of Wesley A. and Margaret H. (Young) Mauk.
Mr. Mauk was a retired truck driver and had served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Clearfield VFW and the Clearfield Eagles. He was a former member of the Clearfield American Legion.
On April 16, 1976 in California, he wed the former Sandra Carol Wilt, who survives, along with four children, Betty Jo Stiner of Indiana, Diane Beard and her husband, Kirby of Missouri, Jeff Mauk of LaJose and Brenda Mauk of Montana; and five step-children, Cindy Graham, Byron Graham Jr. and Fred A. Graham, all of Clearfield, Trish Holt of Lancaster and Michael J. Graham of Virginia.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Summer Beard of Missouri, Heath Beard of Kentucky, Jessie, Joshua and Joseph Mauk, all of Florida, Todd Stiner of Indiana and Allen Erskine of Clearfield; two step-grandchildren, Robert “Pug” Butler and Harley Rae Daniels; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition, four sisters and four brothers survive, including: Sally Smith and her husband, Paul, Sharon VanStanwick and her husband, Wilbur and Kenneth Mauk and his wife, Kathy, all of California; Donna Smith of Florida; Cindy Barrett and her husband, Norman of Carnwath; James Mauk and his wife, Mary Lou of Homer City; Larry Mauk and his wife, Lorna of Indiana, Pa.; and Dale Mauk and his wife, Cathy of Punxsutawney.
He was preceded on death by his parents; an infant son, James; an infant brother, Lindy; and a sister, Mary Jane Ogden.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey with the Rev. Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Mahaffey Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Glen Campbell Honor Guard.
