State police at Clearfield

  • State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Thursday or Friday in the area of Black Burn and Dutchtown roads in Bigler Township. During the incident, unknown suspects allegedly destroyed several mailboxes in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
  • State police reported a drug incident that occurred Friday on the Rockton Mountain Highway in Lawrence Township. According to the report, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by a 31-year-old Clearfield man. The man had an outstanding warrant and was allegedly in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the county jail, and charges are pending through the district court.
  • State police reported a drug incident that occurred July 16 at the VFW picnic grounds in Lawrence Township. According to state police, they made contact with a vehicle parked there, and a 33-year-old Clearfield man was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Charges have been sent to the District Attorney’s office for approval.

State police at DuBois

  • State police reported on a fire marshal investigation that occurred Friday on Clinton Street in DuBois City. State police said a fire damaged a single-stall, detached garage. The fire remains under investigation at this time, and damage was estimated at $5,000.

State police at Philipsburg

  • State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred July 17 on East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly smashed an outdoor light and damaged some fencing that belonged to the victim. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
  • State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred between Friday and Sunday on Logan Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly broke into the victim’s residence and damaged wooden paneling while inside. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.

State police at Punxsutawney

  • State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred July 6 at a Markton Road residence in Knox Township. During the incident, a known 26-year-old man engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. He allegedly punched the victim approximately four to five times in the chest. No injuries were observed, according to the report. Charges were filed through the district court.
  • State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred June 9 at the Wal-Mart store in Punxsutawney. A known 33-year-old woman allegedly admitted to taking a $49.96 fishing pole from the store without paying for it. She was cited for the incident through the district court.

Clearfield Borough

  • Police located a male who was walking along North Third Street, and he was known to have a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the jail on the warrant.
  • Police responded to a report about a child who was pushing a stroller on South Second Street. However, police were unable to locate the child in the area.
  • Police received a report that a rug was removed from the front porch of a residence along East Locust Street.
  • Police assisted a motorist whose vehicle had become disabled along Gulich Avenue.
  • Police received a report that a bicycle was removed from residence along East Locust Street.
  • Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Cumberland Street.
  • Police received a report that eggs were thrown at a residence along Nichols Street.
  • Police checked on a person who was seen sleeping inside her vehicle on Market Street. Police found the female to be OK.
  • Police responded to a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Sheridan Drive and South Sixth Street. According to police, there weren’t any injuries, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
  • Police handled an incident of harassment.
  • Police received a report about an elderly female whose vehicle had struck several others in the downtown area. Police located the female after her vehicle had become disabled along South Third Street. She was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

Lawrence Township

  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness at a Hyde residence. Upon arrival to the scene, police took a 48-year-old Hustontown into custody. He was lodged in the county jail and will be arraigned on the charges.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred in the Country Club area.
  • Police received a report about 911 hang-up calls and a request to check the welfare of people on Mann Road.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred at Wal-Mart on an earlier date in July.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred at Wal-Mart in June.
  • Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Hyde Uni-Mart.
  • Police responded to an alarm at a local business on Route 322.
  • Police received a report about a disturbance in the area of Capitol Hill Road.
  • Police located a suspicious vehicle on Fire Tower Road.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft at Wal-Mart. The suspect was arrested by police.
  • Police received a report about 911 hang-up calls from a dead phone on South Second Street.
  • Police reported that a wallet and purse were found along Route 879 and picked up by a passerby. They were turned into police and returned to their owner.
  • Police responded to a report about a vehicle accident at Wal-Mart. Police said the suspect had left the scene.
  • Police responded to a report about a truck versus train trestle accident on River Road.
  • Police received a report about a male who was allegedly discharging a firearm too close to other residences.

Decatur Township

  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of loitering and prowling along Ashland Road.
  • Police received a report about an incident of trespassing that occurred along Morgan Run Road. The property owners allegedly located a person on their property and asked them to leave and not to return. The property owner contacted police to notify them of the incident.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief to several mailboxes in the area of Red Schoolhouse Road and Setter Lane.
  • Police reported that drug paraphernalia was located at a local business. Police said a syringe was located in a garbage can; it was disposed of.
  • Police responded to a medical emergency/911 hang-up call at a local business.
  • Police received a report about damage to a mailbox on Sanborn Road.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft from a motor vehicle on Walnut Street. Police would like to remind residents to lock their doors on the vehicles and residents at all times.
