State police at Philipsburg

  • State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred May 23 on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly took the SNAP and Social Security cards from the victim’s lost wallet. When it was returned to her, both cards were missing. State police said that the SNAP card was used to make a purchase at Weis Market, Philipsburg, by a known person. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.

State police at Punxsutawney

  • State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred May 16 on Route 28 in Pine Creek Township. During the incident, two known juveniles allegedly engaged in “physical contact.”

Lawrence Township

  • Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of River Road and the Clearfield-Shawville Highway. According to police, a 24-year-old Curwensville man experienced a medical issue, which caused his vehicle to collide with a utility pole. No injuries were reported as a result; however, the man was taken to a local hospital due to his medical issue. His vehicle was towed from the crash scene.
  • Police received a report about an incident of burglary on Mount Joy Road. It was listed as unfounded by police.
  • Police received a report about a 911 hang-up call at a residence along the Krebs Highway. Upon arrival, police found everything to be OK, and that the phone company was working on the lines.
  • Police received a report about a protection from abuse order violation. It was listed as unfounded by police.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception from a township resident.
  • Police were requested to assist Domestic Relations personnel with the pursuit of a person in the Curwensville area. Police were cancelled while en route.
  • Police received an animal call on West Pauline Drive.
  • Police received a report about a disabled vehicle on Route 879 and Industrial Park Road.
  • Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle on Old Town Road.
  • Police received a report about a fraud or possible theft.
  • Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct and trespassing at a Montgomery Run Road residence. Upon arrival, police found the persons had permission to be there.

Curwensville Borough

  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of burglary on Bailor Drive. A male was located inside the residence, and police were assisted at the scene by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office and state police.
  • State police at Lewistown were assisted with checking the welfare of a person at the Curwensville Commons. When contact was made, the person was found to be OK.
  • Clearfield Borough police were assisted with attempting to locate a person.
  • Police responded to a traffic accident in the area of River Street and Bloomington Avenue.
  • Curwensville Ambulance personnel were assisted at the Curwensville High School.
  • Police received a report about a disorderly male at a local establishment. The male left without incident.
  • Police received a report about reckless driving on State Street. A known driver was cited for her actions.
  • Police received a report about the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle from a Filbert Street resident.
  • Police received a report about the alleged criminal mischief to a couple of public buildings on Susquehanna Avenue.
  • Police arrested a 33-year-old woman for allegedly endangering the welfare of children.
  • Police received a report about a large fuel spill in the area of Meadow and River streets and Bloomington Avenue. Curwensville Rescue Hose & Ladder Co. assisted at the scene.
  • Police received a report about an alarm at a Bloomington Avenue address.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of assault at the Curwensville High School.
  • Police received a report about an intoxicated male at the Beech Street Apartments. He was released to a sober person.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of assault at an Anderson Avenue address. Charges are currently pending at this time.
  • Police checked the welfare of a male at the Locust Street Apartments. When contact was made with him, the male was found to be OK.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft at the Snappy’s Convenience Store. Charges are currently pending at this time.
