CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.  

Shaw identified the fugitive as Hunter Anderson, 23, of Old Sawmill Road, Morrisdale. Anderson is wanted for failure to appear at sentencing March 6, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Nov. 16, 2016, Officer Joseph Witherite of the Decatur Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Anderson with possession of a controlled substance, M, two counts; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M, eight counts; and false identification to law enforcement, M3.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, while on routine patrol Nov. 14, 2016, Witherite encountered a vehicle in an isolated area, which is known for a high level of drug activity.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Witherite allegedly observed four occupants inside with various items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances. During questioning, it was related that they were using controlled substances.

When police requested identification information, Anderson initially provided false information. He later admitted to ownership of various pieces of paraphernalia and controlled substances, the affidavit stated.

A preliminary hearing was held Dec. 28, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 6, Anderson failed to appear at sentencing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Anderson is described as a Caucasian male standing 6 feet, 1-inch tall. He has black hair and brown eyes.
