Penny Sue Hamilton Dotts, 42, of New Millport died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
Born July 6, 1974 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Dave Hamilton and Cathy (Swatsworth) Lightner.
Mrs. Dotts was a CNA and had done private duty caregiving. She was both a graduate of Curwensville Area High School and Clearfield County Career & Technology Center.
She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Bloomington.
On May 6, 1995 in Bloomington, she wed Dennis L. Dotts, who survives, along with three children, Gabriel, Sarah and Shaelyn Dotts, all at home; her mother and step-father, Blake Lightner Jr. of Bloomington; her father and step-mother, Linda Hamilton of Grampian; and her paternal grandmother, Margaret E. “Peg” Hamilton of Bloomington.
Also surviving are a brother, Dave Hamilton Jr. and his wife, Kristina of Clearfield; a sister, Taylor Lightner of Bloomington; and two step-brothers, Daniel Fuller and his wife, Alice of Luthersburg and Eric Fuller and his wife, Kelley of Grampian; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cleaver J. and Alma C. Swatsworth and paternal grandfather, Jesse J. Hamilton.
Funeral services for Penny Dotts will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Community Baptist Church in Bloomington, with the Rev. Todd T. Hogue officiating. Burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
