Lamand Pritts, Lynsey Shaw, Denisha Dreibelbis, and Megan Opaliski, employees from Davita Dialysis, are shown presenting Rikki Ross, director of planning and marketing for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., with a $1,000 donation to benefit the Blizzard Box Program. Missing from the photo is Cindy Bontempo, Davita Dialysis.
Every year, the CCAAA sends emergency Blizzard Box meals to homebound older citizens throughout the county. Consumers are encouraged to keep the meals on their shelf for stormy winter days when the agency can’t deliver a hot meal.
Since 1983, local Rotary Clubs, individuals and businesses have pulled together with the CCAAA to fund this valuable program. One hundred percent of all donations are used solely for this program to ensure that homebound older citizens have something nutritious to eat during severe winter weather.
The generous contribution made by the Davita Dialysis will provide Blizzard Boxes, each containing three meals, to 100 local citizens. If you would like more information on the agency or the Blizzard Box program, please visit www.ccaaa.net or call 814-765-2696.
