Marian Terepan, 81, of Reynoldsville died peacefully at the DuBois Nursing Home on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016.
Born Sept. 3, 1935 in Pringle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Shalata) Terepan.
She never married or had children of her own but enjoyed her nieces and nephews. She lived with her brother, Robert. He survives.
Although born in Pringle, Pa., she moved to Manville, NJ in 1939. She resided there until 2007 when she and her brother moved to Pennsylvania to be near her niece, Irene Ferra and her family.
Her first job was at Redfern Laceworks in Somerville, NJ and then the Johns-Manville plant. She retired from American Standard in Piscataway, NJ in 1997 after 38 years of service.
She was Greek Catholic and a life-long member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Manville. She was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union.
She was an avid bowler and loved sports, especially the New York Yankees. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing the guitar and had a beautiful singing voice. She also loved remodeling her home and decorating.
She is survived by two brothers, Daniel Terepan of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Robert Terepan of Reynoldsville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, William and John Terepan and Helen Markunas and Bernadine Abood.
There will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Fr. Ragan officiating.
