PITTSBURGH – DuBois Area High School graduate Chase Barron and his band, Chase and the Barons, were recently signed by Pioneer Records.
The record label is operated and managed by the sports, arts and entertainment management program at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
Barron, a 2014 DAHS grad, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in multimedia from Point Park University in downtown Pittsburgh. He is the son of Rich and Michelle Barron of DuBois.
“I’m honored to be part of the Pioneer Records team. The possibilities are limitless if we keep up the hard work,” said Barron. “Point Park’s urban university is a creative melting pot for artists like me.”
Barron is the lead singer and front man of the Pittsburgh area band that includes Jake Stretch on drums, Jacob Reiger on bass, Mike Saunders on guitar and Tyler Handyside on saxophone.
The band recently performed at Rocktoberfest at the Pittsburgh Playhouse on Oct. 31. They performed songs from the Shrek soundtrack dressed as Robin Hood and his merry men on that Halloween night.
