Beverly Ann Weaver, 81, of Morrisdale died at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016.
Born Feb. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Neubauer Dunn.
On Nov. 6, 1954 at the Morrisdale United Methodist Church, she married the love of her life, James W. Weaver, who preceded her in death July 21, 2009.
She is survived by daughters, Cindy Crain and her husband, Tom of Gearheartville and Debbie Smeal and her husband, Bill of Allport and her grandchildren, Faith Gallaher and her husband, Jason, Tom Crain Jr. and his fiancée, Jess Dufour and Billy Smeal and his wife, Tawnya, all of Morrisdale, Ginger Bainey of Allport and Brad Smeal and his wife, Jennifer of Winburne.
She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Charis and Abby Gallaher of Morrisdale, Carter and Caleb Crain of Morrisdale, Shae Bainey and Sage Hutchings of Allport, Kiersten and Lexy Smeal of Morrisdale, Randi Jo Smeal and her fiancé, Derrick Olenick of Glass City, Kasey Smeal of Hawk Run, Megan and Brianna Coval of Winburne and one great-great-grandson, Carson Olenick.
She is also survived by a sister, Jerry Burge of Allport; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ann Weaver of Clearfield and Karen Dunn of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded by an infant granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Crain; a sister, Joan O’Holleran; a brother, Gene Dunn; and brothers-in-law, Tom O’Holleran, BV Bell, Kelly Burge and Jack Weaver.
She loved all her family, decorating for holidays, especially for Christmas with all her snowmen. She loved helping and caring for others, as many of them would call her Nan. She loved being a paramedic and caring for many that she had the privilege of helping.
She was a 1953 graduate of the former Morris Township High School and a graduate of Harrisburg Community College, in which she studied business.
She was a member of the Morrisdale United Methodist Church, Morrisdale, and the Women’s Circle of the church. She was a lifetime member of Morris Township Volunteer Fire Company, Morrisdale, where she served as a secretary and treasurer for many years, and a member of Central District Volunteer Fireman’s Association.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Rainbow Girls; Centre Hill Grange, No. 855, Morrisdale, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was a certified EMT/paramedic and she trained people. She was also a certified nurse’s assistant.
She had worked at the former Acme Market, West Branch Junior-Senior High School as a secretary and Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield.
Along with her husband, Jim, they had formerly owned Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, and Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Tina Hawkins and lay minister Fred Ferguson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
