CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield-Lawrence Joint Committee has released its final draft of the joint agreement/home rule charter that was created for the proposed consolidation of Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township into the “City of Clearfield.”
CLEARFIELD – The commonwealth rested Tuesday afternoon in the trial for a Madera man who has been accused of forcing a girl to have sex with him over a three-year period beginning in 2012.
HARRISBURG – The 122 members of the incoming Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus on Tuesday once again elected Rep. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny County) as their choice for speaker of the House of Representatives and Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana County) as majority leader for the 2017-18 legislative session.
CLEARFIELD – The wastewater treatment facility project will be 90 percent operational by Friday with flow switched from the old plant to the new one this week, according to Jim Balliet of Gwin, Dobson & Foreman during yesterday’s Clearfield Municipal Authority meeting.
CLEARFIELD – A draft budget for 2017 was approved for advertisement at last night’s Lawrence Township meeting. The budget is balanced and there will not be a tax increase for 2017.
PHILIPSBURG – Officials of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership have announced that five candidates for seats on the partnership’s board of directors have been elected for three-year terms on the board.

CLEARFIELD – A jury of eight women and four men found a Madera man who was accused of raping and sexually assaulting a girl over a three-year period beginning in 2012 not guilty of all charges after deliberating for approximately two hours Thursday.
