CLEARFIELD – Have you gone online lately to look up the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library? If you haven’t, go ahead and visit at www.ShawLibrary.org.
“We have a great new Web site full of information and features that you are sure to enjoy,” says Jayme Stonbraker, library director. “Take some time to look around and explore. You may be surprised by all that we offer.”
Under “Online Connections,” you are able to search the Shaw Library catalog; connect to Overdrive to download e-books and audiobooks; log onto Tumblebooks to find animated stories that read to you; and access PowerLibrary, which is full of databases containing newspaper and journal articles, AP Images and many educational materials to help with research.
Library patrons are now able to request interlibrary loan materials online when they click on the “Services” tab and select “Interlibrary Loan.” There is also a request button for the conference room.
Users will also find various ways to donate to the library under the “Donate” tab. The library staff has uploaded the memorial book form, and posted a link to Shaw Library’s Amazon Smile page. Every time the Amazon Smile link is used to place an Amazon order, Amazon will donate 0.5 percent of the purchase price to the chosen organization.
“While you are visiting our Web site, be sure to also ‘Like’ our library Facebook page,” says Stonbraker. She said the library created a new page this past spring and any of its followers will have to join the new page to keep up-to-date on activities.
