Kimberly Sue Sponsler, 40, of State College died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
She was born Sept. 29, 1976 in Clearfield, a daughter of Jacqulyn L. (Baumgardner) Stone of State College and the late Glenn F. Stone.
She was a welder by trade and also volunteered at Mount Nittany Medical Center with the patient walking program. She was active in her local communities volunteering at many events.
She donated her time as the race director for Boalsburg Memorial Day 5K and the St. Francis Pony Trot 5K in Clearfield.
She was a very warm and loving person who always wore a smile. She loved family events like reunions and family vacations.
There was nothing more dearly to her than family, and that is how we will carry her in our memories.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Aric Sponsler, and three children, Devan Sponsler and Avery Sponsler, both of State College, and Jonathan Sponsler of Chesapeake, Va.
She is also survived by a sister, Angela Icaza and her husband, Andy of Falls Church, Va.; two brothers, Vance Stone and his wife, Kellie of Kent Island, Md., and Jon Stone and his wife, Michele of Valley Forge; and grandmothers, Imogene Baumgardner of Clearfield and Edith Stone of Curwensville.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Clarence Baumgardner and George Stone.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
Friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
