Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group to Host Chamber After Hours, Media Auction

DUBOIS – The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group will host a Chamber After Hours and Media Auction from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at Luigi’s Villa (the former Litts Club).

Special guests will include Senator Joe Scarnati; State Reps. Tommy Sankey and Matt Gabler; Deb Pontzer, executive assistant to U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson; and Eddie Tate of Luigi’s Ristorante and Luigi’s Villa. The event is being held to highlight the importance of local business and advertising.

From 5 p.m. – 6 p.m., there will be a meet-and-mingle hour with the advertising and marketing companies to learn about their packages. There will be heavy appetizers and food sponsored by Comcast Spotlight and the Food Network; a cash bar will be open, as well.

The Media Auction specifically is geared toward helping local business owners with their advertising and marketing efforts for the coming year.  It also offers businesses the opportunity to introduce products and services to a wider and newer customer base.

Guests will walk away with deals, new connections and the opportunity to broaden their advertising reach, said event organizers.

What is a media auction?

A media auction will be a live auction for businesses and organizations to purchase advertising at a discount.

“We’ve had many local and regional advertising and media companies donate packages at no cost to this event. Over $30,000 of advertising and media packages will be available to purchase at a discount,” said event organizers.

“Starting bids for these packages will begin around 10-15 percent, which means you can purchase an advertising package for TV, radio, print, online/digital and marketing services at a fraction of the normal cost.”

All proceeds will benefit the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group and its efforts to beautify and drive commerce to the downtown district.

A Silent Auction for Other Packages

At the start of the event, a silent auction will be offered of online, radio, print, marketing and promotional services and products for any small business, new start-ups and non-profit organizations.

Tax-deductible for You

The DuBois Revitalization Group is a 501(c)3 local charitable organization, which means that your purchasing of the advertising packages for this event is tax-deductible .

“Your support will translate into being a continued supporter of the DuBois community,” organizers said. “Thank you in advance for considering attending the event and for supporting our revitalization efforts.”
