Obituary Notice: Wiley P. Fitzpatrick

Wiley P. Fitzpatrick, 84, of DuBois died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born Feb. 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Pifer) Fitzpatrick.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On Sept. 22, 1956, he married Constance (Wright) Fitzpatrick.  They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

Also, he was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and he was among the original founders of CAPS at DuBois Central Catholic.

He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, Steelers and Penn State football. Above all, he loved being with his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay Fredette and her husband, Robert of DuBois and three sons, Tom Fitzpatrick and his wife, Sheri and Tim Fitzpatrick and his wife, Paula, both of DuBois, and Steven Fitzpatrick and his wife, Amy of Waterville, Ohio.

He is also  survived by two brothers, Jack Fitzpatrick and Bill Fitzpatrick and his wife, Joann, both of DuBois; a sister, Patricia “Tish” Keen and her husband, Ron of Rockton; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Joel and his wife, Lindsay, Daniel, Marissa, Shane, Neil and Kyle Fitzpatrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Fitzpatrick and his sister, Mary “Tuck” Wray.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. A scriptural wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church. Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.
