Wilma Margaret Bloom, 97, of Clearfield died Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born July 4, 1919 in South Fork, a daughter of the late Howard and Kathryn (Rodabush) Myers.
Mrs. Bloom was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. She will be missed for her love of baking, cooking and canning.
She attended Mount Joy United Methodist Church. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she will be remembered for her decorations and love of the season.
She is survived by three sons, Robert D. Bloom and his wife, Linea F. and James L. Bloom and his wife, Carolyn J., all of Clearfield, and Gerald D. Bloom and his wife, Kathy L. of Curwensville; eight grandchildren, Melissa Sell, Kim Snyder, Robert Bloom Jr., Cristen McCracken, Jason D. Bloom, Marcy Milhomme, Andrew Bloom and Susan Lansberry; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anson H. Bloom, on May 1, 1972. She was also preceded in death a son, Anson W. ‘Tom’ Bloom; an infant son, Ronald Bloom; three brothers, Dean, James and Foster Myers; and three sisters, Goldie Fletcher, Bernice Cannonie and twin sister Carrie Carns.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mount Joy United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 409, Clearfield or the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield.
