ATV Crash Claims Life of Munson Woman

RUSH TOWNSHIP – An all-terrain vehicle crash claimed the life of a 45-year-old Munson woman, Coleen M. Dixon, Sunday morning on Casanova Road in Rush Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg.

According to the report, state police were dispatched to an ATV crash at approximately 4 a.m. Dixon lost control of the ATV, it exited the roadway along the right berm and impacted an embankment with the right front tire.

Dixon was subsequently ejected from the ATV, and it came to a rest on its side. She was partially pinned underneath it, state police said, adding a passing motorist observed the scene and contacted 911.

Grassflat and Morris Township Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene. The Centre County Coroner responded and pronounced Dixon dead. Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services transported Dixon to Mount Nittany Medical Center, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Dixon wasn’t utilizing a helmet. Alcohol also appears to be a factor, state police said. The crash remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
