Another skin cancer for actor Hugh Jackman

Actor Hugh Jackman has revealed yet another bout with skin cancer, warning fans to wear sunscreen to keep the common disease at bay.

Jackman, 47, posted a photo to his Facebook page Monday showing a bandage over his nose.

“An example of what happens when you don’t use sunscreen,” he wrote. “Basal cell. The mildest form of cancer. PLEASE WEAR SUNSCREEN and get check ups regularly!”

Fans were understandably concerned, flooding his page with supportive comments and sharing skin cancer stories.

It’s not the Australian actor’s first encounter with skin cancer, or the first time he has urged his fans to wear sunscreen.

He’s been treated at least three times before, dating back to 2013, for basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer.

More than 8 in 10 of the 3.3 million Americans diagnosed with skin cancer each year have basal cell carcinoma, according to the American Cancer Society.

The diagnosis is rarely fatal.
