DUBOIS — Allegheny Mountain League South Division front-runner DuBois Central Catholic kept the Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team in the winless column by posting a 54-33 victory Monday night.
Senior Shauna Guy scored 10 points in the Lady Tide’s seventh loss, their third in the league.
“We played hard, but we just didn’t get it done,” Curwensville coach Eric Duriancik said. “We’re not satisfied with the loss, but the effort was there at least.”
Junior guard Riley Assalone netted a game-high 11 points for the Lady Cardinals, who led by 11 after one quarter and were ahead 29-15 at halftime.
Their 6-2 record includes three wins without defeat for a one-game lead in the AML-South.
DuBois Central Catholic also won the junior varsity game, 36-6.
Curwensville will be at home Wednesday for an AML crossover game against Johnsonburg.
