Dorothy M. Longenecker, 82, of DuBois, and formerly of Hillsdale, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 8, 1933 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Held) Spinnenwelder.
On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Ernest Longenecker. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 2001.
She loved to crochet, do crafts and read. She was also well-known for making beautiful doilies. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
She is survived by four children, Dorothy C. “Dottie” Barry and her husband, William of DuBois; Patricia K. Pearce of Orlando, Fla.; Richard E. Longenecker and his wife, Katherine of Blairsville; and Francis C. Longenecker and his wife, Brenda of Clymer; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Frances, and two brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Bish officiating.
Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery, Hillsdale.
