Irene R. (Buckeye) Coyle, 98, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, and formerly of Osceola Mills, and Brooklyn, NY, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at the center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1917 in Osceola Mills, the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Annie (Solensky) Buckeye. She was the last survivor of 12 children. She married John T. Coyle Sr., Feb. 15, 1947 in New York, NY.
She moved from Brooklyn, NY to Meadville in 2000. While living in Brooklyn, she worked for Abraham & Strauss Department Store for 28 years before retiring. While in Meadville she was under the care of her brother, Robert Buckeye, with whom she was very close to.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Agatha Catholic Church, Meadville. She was a loving and kind person to all of her family and friends and will be missed greatly. She was taken care of with exceptional and loving care while a resident of Crawford County Care Center.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Cecelia Buckeye and many nieces and nephews who were very close to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Coyle Sr., who died April 29, 1995, and by a son, John T. Coyle Jr.
She was also preceded in death by eight sisters, Margaret Buckeye, Dorothy Erdosy, Mary Weidman, Agnes Buckeye, Anna Buckeye, Helen Moore, Rita Furia and Barbara Shimmel and by three brothers, Joseph Buckeye Jr., Edward Buckeye and Robert Buckeye.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Osceola Mills.
Private family viewing and visitation will be at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Osceola Mills.
