Library Announces “Let’s Give Thanks” Story Session

CLEARFIELD – Registration for the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library’s upcoming story session will begin on Thursday. In “Let’s Give Thanks,” preschool-aged children will experience the joy of giving and being thankful through stories, games, activities, crafts and music.

The PA Forward initiative, launched by the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) in 2012, supports the efforts of libraries across the state as leaders in community education. At least one of the five literacies of PA Forward will help guide discussions within the story session theme.

The four-week program begins Nov. 16. The Shaw Public Library is once again offering baby time, toddler time and story time sessions for area preschoolers ages 6 months through 5 years of age.

Baby time classes are open to children ages 6 months through 2 years of age on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Toddler time classes, for children ages 2 to 3 years of age, will follow on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:15 a.m. until 12 p.m.

On Tuesdays there will be two story time classes, the first from 10:30 a.m. until 11: 30 a.m. and the second from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. for all 4 and 5 year olds.

Parents and guardians may contact the library to register for any of the above programs.

The session will conclude with the annual Santa Visit Event. A date, time and additional details for this event will be released soon. The story sessions will also be collecting non-perishable items to donate to the Clearfield Food Bank.

For more information about the “Let’s Give Thanks” preschool story sessions or to register for one of the classes, please contact the library at 814-765-3271 during regular business hours.
