CLARION, Pa. – After a 47-0 whitewashing of Brookville, Karns City moves up to No. 1 in the Sept. 7 D9sports.com District 9 Football Rankings.
Former No. 1 Clearfield (0-1) drops to No. 3 after a 49-14 loss to two-time defending champion Maryland Class A Champion Fort Hill. That allowed former No. 3 Brockway (1-0) to move up to No. 2 after a 56-0 win over Smethport.
DuBois (1-0) jumped up one spot to No. 4, and Punxsutawney (1-0) made the biggest leap in the rankings going from No. 10 to No. 5 after a 41-10 win over Moniteau.
The bottom half of the top 10 sees Clarion (1-0) at No. 6, Kane (1-0) at No. 7, Curwensville (1-0) at No. 8, Redbank Valley (1-0) at No. 9 and St. Marys (1-0) at No. 10.
This week features the first matchup of Top 10 teams as Redbank Valley travels to Karns City Friday night.
