VCCCLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have released the weekly events for July 31 – Aug.6.

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

It’s the second full moon in July, but is it really a Blue Moon? Come learn what a blue moon is (and no, it’s not the color blue) and other facts about the moon. If the weather is clear, we’ll have the telescopes out and trained on the moon.

Farmer’s Market

Downtown DuBois

A farmer’s market will be held every Saturday through October from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. It is held at the corner of Brady Street and Long Avenue in downtown DuBois and sponsored by the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group.

Coalport Flea/Farmer’s Market

The flea/farmer’s market will be open the first Saturday through October. Both markets are held from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Beechwood Park in Coalport; set up will begin at 6:30 a.m.

The flea market space is $15 per month. If you set up all six months, the cost for space is $50; you will get your first month free.

The farmer’s market spaces are limited to food products and plants; you provide your own tables, chairs, etc. The space costs $10 per vendor per day. If you sign up for all five months, it is $40; your first month is free.

Payroll Workshop

Healthy Relationship Workshop

The Children’s Aid Society will host a healthy relationship workshop on Aug. 1 in Clearfield. Workshops will cover topics, such as improving communication, fighting fair strengthening a relationship, reducing stress and keeping fun and friendship. Cruise down the CCC Trail and ride back on Mud Run Road while discussing some of the park’s history. The terrain is easy and suited for mountain bikes. Please wear proper shoes; children under 12 must wear a helmet.

Bring your beach bucket and learn about the splash dam on the beach. Before logging trucks, folks used full-scale versions of these dams to move logs. Come help drive our logs to the “boom” at the lake shore.

Meet for story time as we head to the wooded area near the Beach House. This week’s story looks into the life of a beaver. The story is best for children between 4 and 10. Bring questions for the following discussion.
