CLEARFIELD – A woman accused of manufacturing drugs at her Clearfield residence waived her right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during Centralized Court at the Clearfield County Jail.
Amber Renee Dick, 34, of Clearfield has been charged with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance; manufacture, distribution, possession of a designer drug; possession of drug paraphernalia; corruption of minors; and endangering the welfare of children. Bail has been set at $50,000 monetary.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lawrence Township police were requested to assist Clearfield County probation officers at Dick’s West Front Street residence on March 18. Probation officers advised police that they had received a tip that Dick was allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine and K2 at her residence. Also, Dick’s 16-year-old son who resides with her was allegedly to be in possession of weapons.
Police were requested to assist due to the potential for weapons at Dick’s residence. Upon arrival probation officers made contact with Dick, drug tested her and searched her residence. While searching a back bedroom, probation officers allegedly found one, large bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and a glass pipe that was yellow and black in color, which contained burnt plant material.
When probation officers asked Dick about the alcohol and glass pipe, her son allegedly admitted that both belonged to him, not Dick. Probation officers continued to search each room of the residence.
While searching Dick’s bedroom, probation officers allegedly found a small, clear bag containing a green, leafy substance; a multi-colored glass pipe that contained a burnt plant residue; and a plastic tube with a multi-colored design that contained a white residue.
Underneath one of Dick’s bedroom stands, probation officers allegedly found a long, clear glass tube wrapped in a black bandana; there was a burnt residue near the end of the tube.
Inside the top drawer of Dick’s dresser, probation officers allegedly found a large, clear plastic bag filled with five individually-wrapped clear plastic bags that contained a leafy green substance. Next to the bags, probation officers allegedly found a digital scale and a black plastic case filled with $38 worth of $1 bills.
Probation officers allegedly found a large, silver bag filled with damiana leaf, which is known to be used to manufacture the designer drug, K2. Probation officers also allegedly found a large can of acetone in the bathroom, which is known to be used during the manufacture of K2.
Probation officers also found multiple weapons inside Dick’s residence, such as knives and look-a-like guns.
Dick was subsequently taken into custody and put in the CCJ for violating her terms of probation. Children & Youth Services were notified about the alleged incident and Dick’s son was taken to its office; he was later released to a family member who has custody of him while Dick is in the CCJ.
All questionable evidence seized during the search was transferred to the Erie Regional Crime Laboratory.
On March 19, police went to the CCJ to interview Dick. During the interview, Dick allegedly admitted to “mixing substances together” to manufacture K2.
According to the laboratory report, the residue found inside a pipe in Dick’s bedroom contained a synthetic cannabinoid. The clear, plastic bag of plant material found near the pipe contained a synthetic cannabinoid, as well.
The residue found in the long glass tube, which was wrapped in the bandana, contained methamphetamine. The individually-wrapped bags of a leafy, green substance contained a synthetic cannabinoid.
The residue found in the plastic tube with the multi-colored designs contained methamphetamine, dihydrocodeinone and acetaminophen.
